![]() When you hear it start to happen again, back it down the slightest amount you can till it stops again. Now, ASSUMING this gets rid of it, go to the hi mid gain again and slowly bring it back up towards 0 while testing the issue. For example, if it just starts to do it less at 6k and as you lower it it starts to do it again fully as bad as ever when you hi 2k, set it to 4k. Now that you know the range where it happens within, set the frequency right in the middle. Now keep going lower till it become as bad as ever and not that frequency. When i just starts to stop doing it as muchnote the frequency you are at. Now as you test that sound thats bothering you, turn the hi mid frequency to the highest it goes and slowly turn it down while testing the issue. Now turn down the hi mid gain all the way down. But what u can try is to use the hi mid setting and set the Q to the highest number, which is s sharp narrow notch. Cranked Marshall (similar to Vintage Marshall, but on the brown channel.the Global EQ make a even bigger difference)Ĭlick to expand.Nothing that isn't going to be a band aid of sorts that will probably affect the tone in other negative ways. ![]() The global EQ makes a huge difference in this patch) I think it´s good to dial it into ACDC, Cream and Jimi Hendrix tones for example. Vintage Marshall (I use the EQ to obtain a classic marshall tone.like JTM 45, Superlead, etc. ![]() Ambience chorus (same thing, with a lil bit of chorus) Ambience (clean channel, massive reverb and a compressor) Mayer solo (I´m not so convinced about this, but anyway.mayer clean with a boost in front and pushed mids) Mayer clean (clean channel, boosted low end and mids, a lil bit of reverb.I played gravity and I like it) Break blues (crunch channel, edge of break up) Jimi Hendrix clean (I played Little wing and I like it) fender clean (sparkly clean, increased low end, scooped mids) I dialled the knobs at noon, so you can configure the tone by yourself and according to your taste, guitar, etc: To do that, I used the Global EQ on all patches, I think it´s a massive improve. My main goal was decrease the trebbly character of the amp. ![]() I own a Boss Katana 50 and I have been working on a liveset. Apparently the 100 has a presence control.maybe that will help.I copy and paste my message on Boss Katana thread: Maybe I’ll try the Katana 100, instead of the 50. I refuse to think that an amp that so many seem to love so much, sounds so bad.I’m sure it’s just my ears. Maybe it was the ‘atmosphere’ I was trying it in.maybe it was the American ‘elite’ Strat I was trying it with.maybe I was just tired and hyped myself up about it too much, maybe my hands will never sound good using Boss effects.I will give it a second shot though. The clean was ok, but I found it very mid scooped (even when I dimed the mids on the eq), and all the drive sounds, sounded fizzy.same issues I’ve had when trying out the blues driver.I’m thinking I will give it a couple of days, and go back to give it another shot, maybe bring my own guitar this time.I really do want to like this amp. I wanted soooo bad to love this amp and own one, but after 1/2 hr in the music store, I just couldn’t dial in a good tone. ![]() Went and tried one today, so very excited and prepared to be blown away on the spot.I wasn’t. I’ve been hearing about, reading about, and watching a ton of videos on the new Boss Katana 50 amp.it has rave reviews and sounds soooo amazing in the YouTube vids. ![]()
